Bespoke Dress from Featherstone Frocks

About Featherstone Frocks

My interest in fashion and making dresses began in my teens which prompted me to study Textile Management at Leeds University. It was here that my dress making took off in the form of gowns for my friends to wear to university balls.

After university I went straight into the fashion industry and became a clothing importer for a very successful business. During this time I moved to beautiful West Sussex where we bought a cottage in which we married and had three children.

With invitations for parties, racing at Goodwood, polo at Cowdray, weddings and Christenings many of my friends were struggling to find the perfect dress. It was then that I realised there was a need for handmade, unique, pretty dresses amongst my friends and began to make them again.

My aim is to make each client feel both gorgeous and confident wearing their dress, and be assured that their dress is totally unique. Each person’s body shape is different and with a bit of clever design I am able to accentuate the good bits and disguise the more awkward areas.

I can also copy any existing style if you have a much loved dress that you want to create again in a new fabric.

Price Structure

I charge from £100 for making a simple dress, £200 for a lined dress and £300 for an evening gown. The rest is up to you depending on the price of the fabric you choose and the styling of the dress.

Christening gowns, bridesmaid dresses and wedding dresses can be priced to your individual requirements and personalised with a name or a date.

How it works

I have a sketch book of designs, a selection of vintage patterns and book full of fabric swatches. Come to my house for a consultation, where you can see some examples of my work, and we can decide what to create especially for you!
